You may be familiar with online holiday shopping for clothes and goods. Shopping online for fleece-lined gloves or a book by your favorite author is convenient since you can do it from the comfort and privacy of your own home, and you don’t have to deal with the crowd of people hunting for holiday sales. Searching Amazon for a regional spice is one thing, but did you know that some people shop online for their groceries?
One online grocer, MyWebGrocer.com, found that their online Thanksgiving grocery orders have been steadily increasing. MyWebGrocer CEO Rich Tarrant says the recent increase in the popularity of online grocers has come from consumers embracing online grocery shopping as a time saver. Based on the increased demand for online groceries during Thanksgiving, it seems that families are realizing the convenience that online grocers bring to holiday meals. Below is MyWebGrocer’s breakdown of their consumers’ most preferred Thanksgiving item brands.
1. Stuffing
At 46%, nearly half of all the consumers who bought stuffing chose Pepperidge Farm. 32% of customers preferred Kraft’s Stove Top brand, with 13% of customers purchasing Brownberry.
2. Turkey
While most customers still preferred to buy privately labeled turkeys, 30% of customers purchased their turkeys from Butterball, with 9% choosing Shady Brook Farms.
